walking the halls

liver enzyme tests are a little high so discharge is delayed... but overall hope and cindy are doing well. hope loves to walk the hallways and they walk up to a mile and a half every day!!!

ups and downs

rough time with tube feeds... but things are better now... and tried real food today for the first time!

also having a rough time getting down the correct dose of steroids... but getting there... :)

might be going home Wednesday...!! :)

Good news is foley is out. Not so good news is she is getting EKG as heart rate fell into 70s when sleeping :(

She's in a lot of pain. Shaking. Pretty swollen. High bp. Freaking out when they want to examine her. Starting lasix and bp med.

awake!

just saw hope this morning - she looks GREAT! they did an ultrasound of her transplanted liver - everything looks good so far, but it's not uncommon to have to return to the OR for stenosis of either the vessels or the ducts. her bilirubin is down from

14 to 3.2 - almost normal! if her labs look good and she is doing well, she will transfer from the ICU to a regular floor this afternoon!

last night hope was running a fever in the icu. not sure yet what the status is today...

the liver is in and is functioning well! closing up now... maybe about 45 minutes left!

just heard from cindy - hope still has a FEW MORE HOURS of surgery to go - please keep praying!

latest news from cindy: hope's old liver is out! now working on putting in the new one.

the liver is here! cindy went to the OR and held hope until she fell asleep. she is getting the transplanted liver now.

please pray for cindy. texts from her just now:

First update from OR: all lines in, first incision made. Hope is doing fine.

today is the day

12:10am - hi everyone. i just talked to cindy. yesterday afternoon around 4pm she got the call. she and hope went straight to Boston Children's, and around 10pm the surgery was confirmed - 6:30am tomorrow.

the surgery could be a grueling 10 hours. thankfully hope has finally fallen asleep and looks like she's doing well.
